iPad Maps Applications

If you are planning a road trip or if you just need to go somewhere, you can always use some help driving around. You may get lost, you cannot find a bank or a coffee shop or you can find a theme park. No problem, there are some interesting iPad map applications that can be helpful and easy to use.




Beat the Traffic application is specially designed for the user to help him find the way he needs and help him get where he needs. It’s also a great application for those who aren’t so familiar with the driving methods and who go on a road they’ve never been before. People who live in different areas know the zone and the road very good, of course. But there are always some drivers not familiar with that road, so Beat the Traffic can be really helpful.

The iPad has a buit-in Map, but this one doesn’t work if you don’t have a network connection. One of the most useful iPad maps applications is Street Map and it’s working for many cities from US. Even if you are offline, you can search what you need and you have access to maps for a particular area. The problem with this app is that even though it’s informative, it’s not really detailed, and we all know that can be a big problem when we’re driving. The buildings are shown, but the buildings names do not appear.

UpNext 3D Cities is a free iPad application that seems pretty helpful. For example: if you are searching for a building, all you have to do is to type the name of it and then the search engine will point you the closest location and then will highlight exactly what you need. You can search for nightclubs, shopping shops, restaurants.

Another interesting map application is Transit Maps. This is a brilliant application when you use public transit and you need to have a schedule. It can display any large format you want (GIF, PDF, PDN, JPG) and it offers you the control of the zoom and infinite pinch. We can actually say that this app it’s a must and that it’s easy to use it. Besides this, it works really well and this is good. If you are in an unfamiliar area, this is what you need.

If you are visiting Disney World you will need a guide for sure. It’s true that you can use a paper map, but that’s no fun at all. The Walt Disney World Maps application will help you with what you need to find here. It also let’s you know how long are the lines at the popular attractions, the restroom locations and where the restaurants are. If you need more details, just tap in the attraction you want to know more about and there you go: everything you need. So you should d try this applications when you find yourself in that magic place!

The applications presented here aren’t the only ones available, but they are the most used ones and they are really easy to try. All you have to do is to trust your iPad and let it help you every time you need to know something.
