I do not see myself using something like it and don’t see where I could use such a device! It's more like a bigger iPhone, has exactly the same applications ( mail, the safari browser, pictures, music, Youtube, Google maps, calendar, contacts and applications that you can download from the App Store ). All these and in addition the iWork package which is a Windows Office evil twin. I find it very hard to type and use a keyboard without keys. I own an iPhone for over 2 years and still make mistakes when typing, so I do not see how anyone could be writing documents, long emails or make presentations on an iPad, even if the virtual keyboard is somewhat larger. Well, I found that I can attach a normal Mac keyboard, but at this point thing get a little more complicated and you already make the tablet a netbook or a laptop.

Just like the iPhone it has one button ( home button ), but you can buy a separate video output cable ( if you want to stream the display on a TV) or a USB keyboard cable or other peripherals that you  may want to connect to your iPad.

I read on the CNN website 12 things ( some of them even seem stupid to me ) you need to know about the iPhone. What will the customers use the iPad for? Reading books online, checking mail, surfing the internet, watching videos on YouTube ( in HD ) and play. It has Wi-Fi but no 3 G version yet and there might be special data plan subscriptions for moments where Wi-Fi is not available.
Of course, from my point of view, it will not replace any laptop, but no phone either. It's more of a device for entertainment. I do not see using an iPad at home (where I already have two laptops), or on the subway or in the.

Now with the iPad, despite the huge touch-screen and the fact that the App Store will explode with apps, 10 hours of battery life I'm still not convinced.

I tell you why:

• The 4:3 ratio bothers me as a display. Why did not you make it again 16 : 10 or as most manufacturers 16:9? Just for iBooks? Is it that bad that iBooks would be read on another display ratio? I would have preferred it to be a little taller and narrower.
• From the iPad presentation since I have decided not to get into the group of users who complain that they have no webcams. But if you think a bit more, practically the iPad does not really do much in out-of-the-box state (compared to iPhone) and then a Skype compatibility would be nice.
• Personally, about the pictures app I was not happy with anything. I am lucky that I can travel around the world and took some pictures but I am not a professional photographer and take pictures with a point-and-shoot from Canon. My pictures will never look like those in the presentations of the iPad.
• Having the iPhone with Contacts app installed, this app on the iPad says nothing to me. The Calendar I do not use because I don’t have such a loaded schedule like a business man and I don’t want to put a memo when I wan to have lunch with a “Lunch with John at 12″.
• As for the iWork suite, I think I used Pages once ( I wrote a resume for a friend ). Luckily I spent no money on software and I got the app from a friend. I do not write because I do not know how to write ( as you can see) novels and long stories. The Numbers and Keynote apps I have never touched them.
